Ploughs at the ready today (Sat)
Ploughs will be at the ready at Trumpletts Farm, Hampstead Norreys, as more than 70 ploughmen from across Berkshire battle it out for a place in the national championships.
Visitors can watch classes in traditional horse-drawn, steam and reversible ploughs to the latest state-of-the-art agricultural machinery, which can turn over five acres in an hour.
The event takes place from 9am to 1pm and costs £5 for adults and children under 16 can get in for free.
Friends of West Berkshire Museum will also be hosting a coffee morning in Newbury Town Hall today from 10am until 12pm.
The afternoon in West Berkshire is filled with sport action.
In football, Kintbury take on Lambourn at the recreation ground, Hungerford take on Bashley in the FA trophy at Bulpit Lane and in hockey, Newbury Ladies take on Reading at Henwick.
