Reading Magistrates' Court: police can detain £12,000 seized from Thatcham woman's home

POLICE who seized £12,000 from a Thacham woman's home have won permission to detain it for a further six months.
On Wednesday, May 26, Reading magistrates heard the suspected ill-gotten gains were found in a pink box and bedroom safe in the home of Anne Phillips in The Haywards, Thatcham, on Tuesday, May 25.
Thames Valley Police successfully applied to the court for the continued detention of the cash in accordance with section 295 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
