Police appeal after man tries to grab a pushchair in Newbury
At about 6.30pm on Wednesday, an 18-year-old woman was pushing her young child in a pushchair through the underpass near the Toby Carvery in Shaw Road.
She was approached by a man, who tried to take hold of the pushchair.
There was a minor struggle and the woman was able to get away.
Both the woman and child were unharmed.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Neil Williams from Newbury CID said: “We would like to appeal to any witnesses and in particular, we would like to identify a female runner who was wearing a fluorescent vest in the area.
“Officers have been in Newbury town today, offering reassurance to members of the public.”
