Police appeal after second cat shot

Pet left without an eye in vicious Baughurst attack

A pet cat was left without an eye after it was shot at the end of its driveway in Baughurst Common last Thursday.

The cat was attacked with a sling shot outside its home in Wolverton Road, near Tadley, at around 7pm last Thursday (April 16).

The cat's owner said he heard two sounds from a silver 4x4 vehicle which was parked at the end of his driveway, which drove off when he began to approach.

A short while later he found his cat with injuries to its head.

The animal was taken to the vet for treatment. A large lead shot was removed by the vet and the cat ended up losing its eye due to its injuries.

It is the second attack of this kind in recent weeks. On Thursday, April 9, one-year-old pet cat Jack was shot in the neck with an air rifle sometime between 11am and 9pm while outside in Byles Green, Upper Bucklebury. Jack survived the ordeal, but has a long road of recovery ahead.

Hampshire Police are appealing for anyone who may have information on this latest incident to contact them via the 24-hour hotline 101, quoting 44150129772. Alternatively information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
