Police appeal after serious collision on A34




Two men still in hospital following crash near Newbury

POLICE are appealing for information after a serious road traffic collision on the A34 near Newbury.

At around 9.50pm on Saturday, a white Vauxhall Corsa was travelling southbound just after the junction for Compton when it collided with the central reservation and crossed through the barrier onto the opposite carriageway.

It was then in a collision with a blue BMW 1 Series which was travelling northbound.

The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a 24-year-old man, sustained a broken leg, a ruptured aorta and other internal injuries.

The driver of the BMW, a 28-year-old man, sustained a serious head injury and spinal fracture.

Both were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment and are currently still in hospital.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any other information which could help with the appeal.
