Police appeal for witnesses after string of break-ins in West Berkshire




There have been a series of break-ins and thefts across the district over the past week.

This comes after a string of burglaries and thefts in Newbury and Thatcham in late October.

Thames Valley Police has released appeals for information for multiple incidents.

Offender(s) broke into two sheds on Bridge Street in Hungerford between noon on Thursday, November 2, and Saturday, November 4.

They stole bicycles, a strimmer and fuel cans.

The lock of a garage was broken in Newbury Street in Kintbury between 5pm on Friday, November 3, and 8am on Saturday, November 4.

The driver’s side window of a Land Rover Defender was smashed.

There was a break-in at a garage in Smitham Bridge Road in Hungerford between 10pm on Friday, November 3, and 10am on Saturday, November 4.

Offender(s) broke into the garage and stole a mountain bike.

A property in Celandine Grove, Thatcham, was burgled between 1pm on Saturday, November 4, and 12am on Sunday, November 5.

Police say offender(s) entered the property via the rear door and broke the lock.

Two designer handbags were stolen.

A garage in Chilton Way, Hungerford, was burgled between 4pm on Saturday, November 4, and 9.20am on Sunday, November 5.

Offender(s) entered the garage by pushing a transit van away from the door and breaking the padlock.

Police say lead was stolen.
