British Transport Police appeal to identify Thatcham rail death victim
Police have appealed for the public’s help to try and identify a man who died after being struck by a train near Thatcham.
British Transport Police officers were called to the railway line near Thatcham at 9pm on Tuesday, August 29, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Despite a number of enquiries, detectives have not yet been able to identify the man and inform his family.
They have now appealed for anyone who may recognise the description of the man to get in touch with them as soon as possible to assist their investigation.
The man is described as white, aged mid 20s to early 30s, slim and with brown hair.
He has a line drawn tattoo of an apple on his lower right arm, and was wearing a red and black Guru logo hoody, black jeans and white socks.
Officers believe he may have owned a blue and green Carrera bike which was in the area.
