Police car crashes into wall

An investigation is underway after a police car appeared to lose control while travelling on the A4 today (Thursday)

THAMES Valley Police are investigating a road traffic accident involving a police car that occurred near Woolhampton this afternoon (Thursday).

Police spokesman Chris Kearney confirmed that a police car appeared to have lost control on the A4 and came off the road while heading in the direction of Reading at about 1.30pm today.

The car crashed into the wall of a front garden just 20 meters from the Cosy Cottage Cattery.

Manager of the cattery, Keith Howard, said: “I heard the thump and went outside to have a look. The police car had crashed into the wall but I don't know how it happened.”

Police have confirmed that the driver of the car sustained minor injuries, but added that no other vehicle was involved in the collision.

One ambulance was at the scene as well as three police vehicles.

The road is not closed but police officers are controlling the traffic flow so delays are expected.
