Police confirm M4 death




Driver of a skip-loader confirmed dead following multi-vehicle incident on M4

POLICE are investigating the death of a skip lorry driver following a multi-vehicle collision on the M4 today (Wednesday).

The driver of the skip-loader was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics after a collision on the eastbound carriageway near Junction 12 at Theale.

The other vehicles involved were an articulated lorry, a black Kia Picanto, and a grey Audi A6.

The driver of the Kia has been take to the Royal Berkshire Hospital as a precaution.

No-one else involved in the collision required hospital treatment.

The eastbound stretch and Junction 12 entry-slip were closed immediately and the carriageway remains closed so the cause of the collision can be investigated and the vehicles can be recovered.

Lane three and the Junction 12 entry-slip road are now open and running and officers hope to re-open the rest of the motorway within the next two hours.
