Police investigate town centre incident




An area of Bartholomew Street, Newbury, was cordoned off by police last night (Thursday)

POLICE are investigating an incident in Newbury town centre last night (Thursday) where it is thought a man was attacked by a group.

An area in Bartholomew Street was cordoned off at about 6.30pm and local shopkeepers have reported that a man, who was thought to have been beaten up, was found lying in the road covered in blood.

The cordon was understood to still be in place until at least around 8pm.
