Police investigating ‘seemingly linked’ series of rural break-ins in Burghclere and Ashford Hill




Police have been investigating a number of offences in the Burghclere and Ashford Hill which they have stated are “seemingly linked”.

Officers have asked anyone who might have information about any of these incidents to get in contact with police.

They have also asked anyone who might have been a victim of similar offences but are yet to report it to please do so via the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary website.

Overnight on Wednesday, May 15 to Thursday, May 16 between 11pm and 6am in Ashford Hill, unknown offender(s) have broken into outbuildings and stolen tools and a quad motorcycle (crime reference 44240204655).

Overnight on Thursday, May 16 at around 1.45am in Burghclere near Ox Drove, unknown offender(s) attempted to gain entry to a shipping container but fled when challenged (crime reference 44240204459).

Overnight on Friday, May 17 at around 3.44am in Burghclere near Ox Drove, unknown offender(s) gained access to a garage and attempted to gain access to a shipping container (crime reference 44240206359).

Overnight on the same day between 3am and 3.45am in Burghclere near Ox Drove, unknown offenders tried to gain access to a garage but were unsuccessful (crime reference 44240206757).

Overnight on Friday, May 17 and into Saturday, May 18 in Ashford Hill, unknown offender(s) tried to jemmy a gate open to gain access to a rural dwelling. Nothing was stolen (crime reference 44240209538).
