Police investigation closes M4 eastbound between Junction 16 and Junction 15

Update: This has now cleared.

The M4 is currently closed eastbound between Junction 16 and Junction 15.

Highways England said all lanes are closed due to a police incident.

The event is expected to clear between 12pm and 12.15pm today (Saturday).

The westbound carriageway is open with traffic being diverted via the exit and entry slips at Junction 15.

The third lane, westbound, is still closed.

The M4 eastbound entry slip at junction Junction 16 is also fully closed.

Highways England said diversion routes are in operation.

There is severe congestion westbound between Junction 14, Hungerford and Junction 15.

There are delays of up to 20 minutes against expected traffic.
