Police issue fines to lay-by lorries in Woolhampton

A POLICE crackdown has resulted in lorries parked in lay-bys getting penalised.

Thames Valley Police said in a statement: “We have issued 11 fixed penalty notices today (Sunday, February 16) to lorries left abandoned in a lay-by off the A4 in Woolhampton as we continue to work with our partner agencies for a long term solution to this issue.”

Officers posted an image (pictured) of some of the offending vehicles.

A fixed penalty notice (FPN) is a way to settle minor criminal offenses by paying a fee instead of being prosecuted.

The recipients must either pay up or contest the fine in court.
