It was the quick thinking of a neighbour who had been looking out for the residents in question, which interrupted the exchange of a sum of cash.

Similar reports received previously have resulted in residents being given transport to the nearest ATM and encouraged to withdraw cash in order to pay for the work carried out. This is not the case on this occasion.

The vehicle used by the unknown persons was described as a Honda CRV in silver with the partial registration of H12 ***.

Anyone with information can contact police using the crime reference number for this incident – 44230385756.
