Police launch investigation after elderly woman is injured during robbery
The incident happened at about 1pm last Tuesday (May 29) in Holly Bush Lane, Burghfield Common.
The victim got off a bus from Reading when a man approached her from the direction of Willink School, School Lane.
The offender grabbed the elderly woman’s handbag and ran off.
The victim fell to the floor and sustained a broken arm and minor cuts.
She was discharged from the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, following treatment.
Thames Valley Police say there is no description of the offender.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
They are particularly keen to trace a man who was driving along the road and stopped to help the victim as she was lying on the pavement.
