Thames Valley Police locate abandoned lorry loaded with railway tracks stolen from Network Rail

Police found an abandoned lorry loaded with stolen railway tracks in Newbury on Thursday morning.

The suspicious lorry was reported to Thames Valley Police and PC Gibson from the rural crime taskforce located it on Faraday Road.

Police also received further reports that two men in orange fluorescent clothing fled the abandoned vehicle.

The lorry has been seized and the stolen tracks have been recovered by Network Rail.

British Transport Police are now leading the investigation.
