Police have made an arrest in connection with a large residential fire that is still blazing in Newbury.

Thames Valley Police has warned residents to avoid the area around Skippons Close in Wash Common this evening (Thursday) while Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service deal with the fire.

No one was seriously injured in the blaze, but the fire service is still working to extinguish it.

Police have closed parts of Glendale Avenue, Villiers Way and Enborne Street while they deal with the incident.
