Thames Valley Police: No firearm found at Newbury nightclub 'incident'




POLICE have confirmed they were called to reports of a suspected firearms incident at a Newbury nightclub.

The reports came during a concert at the new Power club in the Kennet Shopping centre by British grime artist, singer and songwriter Yungen, which took place between 9pm on Friday, January 6 and 3am the following morning.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "[Police] were called to reports of a person suspected to be in possession of a firearm in The Kennet Centre, Newbury, at around 1am on Saturday.

"Officers attended the scene and conducted enquiries into the reported incident.

"These enquiries have since concluded that no crime was committed.

"No firearms were found."

He added: "The investigation has been filed pending any further information coming to light."
