Police question couple caught engaging in sexual act in public

A man and woman were taken in to Newbury Police Station for questioning after they were seen engaging in a sexual act in the alleyway (pictured right) which runs between the Corn Exchange and The Queens Hotel in Market Place, Newbury, at about 2am yesterday.
The alleyway was cordoned off while police carried out a search of the area which fuelled rumours that a sexual assault had taken place.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Chris Kearney confirmed to Newburytoday.co.uk this morning that the couple had been engaging in a consensual sexual act.
He said no arrests or charges would be made.
