A witness appeal has been renewed by police after the death of a man on the A339 in Newbury.
Thames Valley Police renewed their appeal today (Friday) following the road traffic collision on Monday at 7.35pm – and would specifically like to hear from anyone who saw pedestrians in the area.
The crash involved a bronze-coloured Honda CRV and a male pedestrian in his thirties.
The vehicle was travelling on the A339, away from Newbury town centre, between the Burger King and Tesco roundabouts.
The collision occurred between the vehicle and the pedestrian.
The man suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and no arrests were made.
Senior investigating officer of the serious collision investigation unit DS Darren Brown said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who has died in this collision. They are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers at this extremely difficult time.
“I am renewing our appeal for witnesses, and would specifically like to hear from anybody who saw any pedestrians in the area of the A339 at around the time of the incident on Monday evening.”
He added: “The specific area of the A339 I am referring to is an area just prior to the footbridge on the northbound carriageway towards Tesco.
“I would also like to re-appeal to any drivers who were on the A339 at around the time of the collision.
