Thames Valley Police release CCTV image of men in connection with assault at Newbury Racecourse




A MAN suffered a broken shin in an assault at Newbury Racecourse last month.

On Saturday, August 14, before 6pm, the victim, a man in his twenties, was assaulted outside the grandstand at Newbury Racecourse.

He sustained injuries to his face and cuts to his head, as well as a broken shin.

Thames Valley Police has released a CCTV image of two men officers would like to speak to in connection with the investigation, which is being treated as an incident of grievous bodily harm.

Investigating officer, PC Niamh Meaney, based at Newbury police station, said: “We are releasing the image of these two men as we believe they may have information about this incident.

“If you recognise either of the men in this image, or believe either may be you, please get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have information about what happened to please contact police.

“To report any information you can call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference 43210364306. If you have any mobile phone footage that may assist the investigation, you can submit this to us using our dedicated online portal.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
