Police to clampdown on illegal raves this Easter
THAMES Valley Police will increase resources over the Easter weekend in the fight against illegal gatherings in rural areas.
The Easter weekend is historically a hot spot for illegal raves and unlicensed music events.
Police are asking landowners and farmers to check sensors, farm gates, entry points, and outbuildings to prevent unlawful entry onto their land.
Rural communities are asked to be watchful of anyone acting suspiciously.
Inspector Emma Baillie said: “I encourage land owners and rural communities in the Thames Valley area to report raves being set up as soon as possible. We have additional police resources available to respond effectively to these events during the Easter holiday period. However, it is only through the eyes and ears of local communities that we can respond early to prevent their set-up in the first place.”
If you notice anyone acting suspiciously who may be conducting early reconnaissance on rural land or starting to set up an event, please contact Thames Valley Police on 101 promptly with a description and location to help us prevent a rave before it has started.
If you don't want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
