Police to hold tack marking events in West Berkshire next weekend
The first will take place at Bucklebury Farm Park next Saturday (July 12), followed the next day with a session at Pangbourne Police Station, both from 10am to 1pm.
A final event will take place at Saddle Back Farm Shop, on California Farm, Brightwalton, on Saturday, September 6, again from 10am to 1pm.
Rural crime officer for West Berkshire, PCSO Colin Reeves, said: “High value equipment such as horse tack, trailers and horse boxes can be regularly targeted by thieves.
“It is important for people to take a number of precautions to avoid loss and disruption.
“I would urge residents to consider security marking tack, which can act as a deterrent to any would-be-thieves.
“Thieves are less likely to steal valuable tack that can be traceable to an owner.
“Please feel free to pop along and visit the team at these events, to find out more about how you can improve your outbuilding security and take advantage of the free security marking services.
“These events are also a great opportunity for residents from the local area to meet their neighbourhood officers and discuss any matters of concern.”
