Police to increase patrols after drilling thieves target West Berkshire’s vans




Burglars have been actively targeting vans across West Berkshire.

Thames Valley Police says it has seen an increase in reports of thefts from vehicles over the past few days.

In many instances, the robbers are drilling off the locks protecting the van before gaining entry and stealing the tools kept inside.

As a precaution, officers are increasing patrols, but they are asking the public to help them by keeping an eye out for suspicious activity.

Anyone who sees a crime in progress is asked to call 999 and report it.

Alternatively, anyone with information or doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage that could help their investigations is asked to call 101.
