Police warn West Berkshire residents about charity scam

It has been reported that two males, aged around 20, possibly with tattoos on their hands have been collecting money but the school is unaware of this collection.
Police are advising residents not to hand money over or give out bank details.
Development director at Mary Hare school, Jane McMillan, told NewburyToday this afternoon (Fri): "We have been made aware of some people who are making door to door collections and some street collections in support of deaf children, and in some instances for Mary Hare or Mill Hall School for deaf children - our primary school.
"We have never collected door to door and we are not making any street collections at the moment and this has been reported to the police."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 immediately and quote URN 1303 of 23/01/14.
Police would also like to hear from anyone who may have had these males call at their home already. Please contact the 101 number as above.
