Police warning after Thatcham crime wave

Multiple vehicles and garages broken into over a two-day period

THATCHAM residents are being reminded to be vigilant following a spate of break-ins and thefts over two days.

Thames Valley Police is advising people in the town to keep garages, sheds and vehicles secure and to not leave valuables on display.

Two of the reported incidents occurred in roads off Sagecroft Road and four were near Ilkley Way.

A car in Eliot Close was broken into at 3.45am on October 6.

The driver’s window was smashed and cash stolen. Two youths, aged around 16, were seen leaving the road.

Nearby in Flecker Close, between 2am and 7.30pm on the same night, thieves smashed the passenger window of a blue VW Caddy.

Overnight on October 5 a garage in Bodmin Close was broken into and a silver Carrera bicycle stolen.

In Rosedale Gardens an orange and black Carrera bicycle was stolen from a garage some time between October 4 and 6.

The child seat was found further up the road.

Closeby in Tadham Place, parcels were stolen from a black Ford Focus during the night of October 5 and 6.

In Cairngorm Road, a hedge trimmer and leaf blower were stolen from a blue Ford Transit on the same night.

Elsewhere, and on the same night, a handbag was stolen from a blue VW Passat in Agricola Way after a window was smashed.

And in Hurford Drive a vehicle window was smashed and tobacco stolen.
