Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses following alleged rape in Parkway's disabled toilets




Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an alleged rape in Newbury.

At around 5pm on Wednesday, November 16, a woman was raped in the disabled toilets at Parkway Shopping centre.

A 23-year-old man from Newbury has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He has been bailed while police enquires continue.

Investigating officer, DC Peter Brooks, from Newbury Police Station, said: "We are carrying out an investigation following this incident.

"We have arrested a man on suspicion of rape and at this time we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

"We are carrying out a number of enquiries and we believe that a possible witness, who we think is a man, may have been in the vicinity of the toilets at around the time this incident happened.

"We would ask that if this is you to please get in touch by calling Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 43220517098 as you may have witness information that could help with our investigation.

"If anyone else believes they have information following this incident then please contact us online quoting the same reference."

The victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
