Poppy party in Newbury

An event will be held at Newbury College today (Saturday) to mark the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion

A POPPY party to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion (RBL) will be held in Newbury today (Saturday).

The party, with games and live music, will be held at Newbury College, Monks Lane from 9.30am until 4.30pm.

One of the organisers and Newbury junior mayor, Cameron Smith, said: "The RBL is a really worthy cause, it's just such a great charity.

"It should be a great day and hopefully for a good cause."

Entry is free and donations will go to the RBL.
