Italian eaterie Lusso moving from Weavers Walk to Northbrook Street in Newbury town centre

Popular Italian eaterie Lusso is moving to Northbrook Street in Newbury town centre.

The owners of the independent restaurant and gelateria currently based in Weavers Walk, Newbury, have applied to West Berkshire Council for a refit, including new fascias and extractor fans.

Both 30 and 31 Northbrook Street are retail units, that were previously home to O2 and Jojo Maman Bebe shops, and are currently vacant on the ground floor.

There is separate office accommodation over both properties.

The two ground floor properties are to be opened up into a single unit by the landlord.

The front area of the ground floor of 31 Northbrook is to remain open, accommodating a bar and a kitchen area with some seating, and a staff area to the rear.

And 31 Northbrook Street is to be predominantly designated as customer seating area and WC, with some stock storage at the rear.

An application will be made for an outdoor seating licence outside both 30 and 31 Northbrook Street.

The application has been lodged with West Berkshire Council for a decision.
