Englefield Stores & Tea Room celebrates first year anniversary under new ownership

A village tea room has celebrated its first year anniversary under new ownership.

After a busy year of renovations, staff welcomed the local community to celebrate the tea room’s first year under new ownership on Wednesday, July 12.

Owner Elizabeth Wirth took to social media to share an emotional thank you with her local customers after the event.

“We've had such a great day today celebrating our first birthday,” she wrote.

“Thank you for all that came along and all the well wishes. It’s been amazing.

“I can't thank you all enough, especially my lovely team and family of course.

“Here's to many more great years ahead hopefully.”

The winner of the afternoon tea for one voucher was Janet Frost.

And in a further welcome surprise, children from The Old Fire Station Nursery visited the team room with a card of congratulations.

The Tea Room is open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
