Post could arrive later in Pangbourne
Under the changes, Royal Mail will continue to make deliveries in the morning, but over a longer period, with customers expected to receive their mail by lunchtime.
However, this could vary depending on their location on the new route.
In a statement, Royal Mail said that it was making the changes because fewer letters were being posted on a daily basis and that the reorganisation would help make its service more efficient.
The changes were implemented last week and Royal Mail has said it would be writing to people in the area to notify them of the alterations.
However, office manager at Singleton and Daughter estate agents, Lesley Beardsly, said that the company was unaware of the changes, but she thought their business would not be seriously affected as a lot of their communication was now via email.
“If it comes later in the day then that’s not so bad but if it’s every other day then that would be a problem,” she said.
Royal Mail’s collections and delivery sector manager, Mark Lennon, said: “We are proud of the high regard in which our postmen and women are held in Pangbourne.
The changes to delivery routes will mean that a member of our local and experienced team will still be delivering to our customers in and around Pangbourne.
“The local delivery team and I are fully committed to providing a high quality of service that is as reliable and friendly as customers have come to expect from Royal Mail in the Pangbourne area over many years.”
