Post mortem due after body found in Newbury

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious as a post mortem date is set

A POST mortem is expected to be carried out tomorrow on a woman who was found dead inside a flat in Newbury yesterday.

The body of a woman was discovered in a property in Curnock Court off Enborne Place, Newbury, at about 4pm yesterday.

Police officers and an ambulance attended the incident but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Spokesman for Thames Valley Police, Chris Kearney, said: “We always attend unexplained deaths but we're pretty confident that this is not suspicious.”

Newbury Coroner's Court confirmed that a post mortem would take place tomorrow to ascertain a cause of death.
