Pothole hotline dropped by council

West Berkshire Council’s shadow executive member for highways Keith Woodhams (Lib Dem, Thatcham West) proposed that a hotline should be set up so members of the public could report damaged roads at the earliest opportunity.
However the administration said the current procedure, where members of the public call the council’s customer service telephone number to report a pot hole is satisfactory.
Mr Woodhams said: “I am disappointed that my suggestion of a spot the pothole hotline has been dropped.
“Public engagement is crucial to alert the council to potholes appearing. The motorists can pay a very high price for repairs.”
To report a pothole or problem with one of the district’s roads, call 01635 519080 or email customerservices@westberks.gov.uk
