Poundland on the move
Store plans to relocate from Kennet Centre to Northbrook Street
POUNDLAND is set to become the latest store to leave the Kennet Centre in Newbury.
The popular bargain shop is looking to move into 79 Northbrook Street, the unit formerly occupied by HMV and, until recently, Morrisons.
Project manager for Poundland, John Frary, said: “It is a relocation as opposed to a new store. We have not set a date yet and still have a bit to do, but we are hoping to complete it as soon as possible.
“We are always looking for the best opportunity in an area and when this particular site became available we felt it was a better opportunity. We are trying to build on our success as a group.”
Poundland has already put in an application for signage in anticipation of the move to Northbrook Street.
