Power cut hits Thatcham last night (Thurs)

Power cuts swept through parts of Thatcham, close to Stony Lane and Bath Road, just after 10.15pm.
A spokesman from Southern Electric Power Distribution, Duncan McDonald, confirmed that power had been restored to all affected properties shortly before midnight last night, but that the cause of the problem was currently unknown.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience the loss of supply caused,” he said.
“Our priority is always to get the power back on as quickly as we can for our customers.”
He added that the firm is currently establishing the cause of the fault.
