Power cut in parts of West Berkshire says Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks
There is a power cut in parts of West Berkshire today (Friday).
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said the power cut has affected the Newbury area as well as RG8, RG14, RG18 and RG20 postcode areas.
Its live power track map says an engineer is on site and progress is being made to get the power back.
But due to transformer faults in the area, it says, power will be off for longer than first estimated.
SSEN told those affected: “Thank you for your call today and again we're very sorry for the power cut in the Newbury area and RG8, RG14, RG18 and RG20 postcode areas.
“We are making progress on getting the power back on, however due to transformer faults in the area, power will be off for longer than first estimated.
“We do apologise for this and will have an update by 5pm for you.
“If you are not in the these postcode areas or if you want any extra help please call us back on 105.”
