Power of four take on towering three peaks
Jonathan Paine, Steve Brown, Matt Bunce and Chris Hunt, all aged 26, will attempt to reach the summits of the three highest mountains in the UK in just 24 hours in June.
As training continues, the foursome are looking for sponsors. They are raising funds for Action Medical Research for Children, a UK charity which helps sick, premature and disabled youngsters.
Mr Paine said that they decided to take on the challenge – which involves climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis – for Action Medical Research because of the medical breakthroughs the charity had achieved since it started 61 years ago.
He said: “We just wanted to do something for charity. We have never climbed any of the three peaks so we thought it would be quite an achievement.
He added: “We are going to climb at least one of the mountains beforehand to give us a taste of what's involved.
“It’s going to be quite a difficult challenge as you have to travel as well. It seems like it's going to be quite hard but we are excited.”
The team is aiming to raise £2,000.
