Praise for Hampshire officers who rescued dachshund and her five puppies in Tadley

Officers who recovered a dachshund and her five puppies from a puppy farm in Tadley have been congratulated for their work.

The dachshund, named Bella, and her pups were found inside a cage in front of a property in Sandy Lane on August 11, after officers received information from the borough council.

Bella was later identified as being stolen from Aylesford, Kent, in November last year.

All of the dogs were safely taken to a secure kennel and later reunited with their owner.

On Wednesday, Superintendent Karen McManus of Basingstoke Police went to Tadley Police Station to present certificates of congratulations to members of the Tadley and Countrywatch teams as well as two officers from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Pc Stacy Beale, Pc Amy Giraudet, the borough council’s licensing officer Harriet Maund, Pc Simon Denton, the council’s dog warden Laura Yeates, Pc Lee Stanbrook, TPS Karla Leese, Pc Ross Holdsworth and Pc Bethan Viney were presented with their certificates on Wednesday.

Psi Anna Presswell, Pc Amy Giraudet and Pc Rachel Marshall will receive their awards at a later date.

Superintendent McManus said: “I was delighted to be able to celebrate great partnership work which resulted in an incredibly successful operation involving members of our Neighbourhood team and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

“It is operations like the one back in August that highlights the importance of having a strong working relationship with our partners.

“The people who have received certificates today should be incredibly proud of themselves and it proves what stellar work we are doing day in, day out to investigate crimes to produce the best outcomes for victims.”
