Prepare for a festival of world culture this weekend

Through culture, heritage and diversity through dance performances, music, art, crafts, food and more, Nadeem Soomro, chairman of the WBMEF said: “This event provides an accessible platform for local and Berkshire wide groups to promote their work; it also offers an invaluable opportunity for our partners and supporters to engage with a variety of local communities and groups.”
The event is free to attend and includes a variety of cultural performances, such as a Chinese Lion Dance, percussion drumming with the Drum Runners, street dance, South Indian dance, Gael Music, and Jamaican folk songs, plus Victory Martial Arts, VICI Language Academy.
Visitors can also try out a Thai foot massage, Indian head massage, or decorate their skin with henna body art.
There are lots of hands on activities including fruit smoothie bikes, and Chinese crafts; people can even record their own music and sound.
In addition to performances and participation workshops, there will be gift stalls to browse along with food tasters from around the world including India, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia and Jamaica.
Culture Fest is sponsored and supported by Greenham Common Trust, Sovereign Housing, West Berkshire Council and NHS Berkshire West.
