Primark in Newbury: What do we know? Possible opening date, jobs and more

Primark will finally be opening its doors to customers in Newbury in 2025, but what do we know so far about the fashion retailer giant coming to town?

The new store will be located in the former premises of department store Debenhams at the north end of Parkway Shopping centre and it will provide Newbury shoppers its usual offering of budget fashion, home and beauty products.

Large signs have been installed advertising Primark on the store’s eastern facade by the Park Way road, as well as above its entrance within the shopping centre itself.

Primark is currently advertising one job vacancy for a visual merchandiser in its upcoming Newbury store.

Extensive works have taken place within the Parkway unit to suit Primark’s needs.

The existing escalators within have been altered and the first floor has been divided into two sections to accommodate the space for an additional retail space.

It is not known what business will take residence within this space.

The loading bay at the back of the unit on Park Street has been altered to suit Primark’s requirements and a new fire escape has been installed on Park Street as well.

There have also been several adjustments to the facade of the building to reflect Primark’s branding, such as panels with the recognisable light blue colour associated with the retail chain being put up.
