IT WASN’T just the women of West Berkshire who took part in the annual Race For Life event, as primary school pupils at a Newbury school also finished their own version of the charity event.

Pupils and staff at Speenhamland Primary School raced one mile around the school grounds last Tuesday to raise money for cancer charities, each earning medals for their run. The pastoral manager at the school, Tor Bedingham, said of the run: “It was a super fun event that touched all of our hearts, and was very emotional to watch.”

The school confirmed that the total raised so far stands at £773.45 for charity.
