Primary schools celebrate new executive head

A new executive headteacher is taking the helm of both Stockcross Primary School and Welford and Wickham Primary School.

Joanna Lagares, an experienced headteacher, recently joined the Kite Primary Federation from a nearby local authority and is dedicated to ensuring the children’s learning journey is the best it can be.

Mrs Lagares said: "I am excited to join the Kite Primary Federation and I am looking forward to growing our school community."

Both schools are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and committed to offering a flexible approach to the children’s education.

They are the only schools in West Berkshire to have a registered Scout Unit on a Friday afternoon, where they cover the core curriculum through their adventurous pursuits.

Staff from both schools are looking forward to welcoming prospective pupils and parents at their upcoming open days.

Stockcross' Open Day is on Thursday, September 29, and Welford's Open Day is Monday, September 26. Both are at 9am.
