Prior approval sought for flats above former Lloyds bank in Thatcham’s Kingsland Centre

Prior approval is being sought for a proposed conversion in Thatcham town centre.

Planners are hoping to turn the office space above the old Lloyds bank in the Kingsland Centre into flats.

The first floor of unit 1 and unit 2 would become three self-contained flats with ancillary refuse and cycle parking facilities.

The Lloyds closed on August 24 last year and the unit has been vacant since.

It was Thatcham’s last bank, leaving the town with one cash machine.

The property is in the primary frontage of Thatcham Town Centre and falls into the town’s conservation area.

The accommodation will consist two one-bed flats and one two-bed.
