Problems resolved in phone and broadband failure

A spokesman for the telecommunication firm, who asked not to be named, said that all problems were rectified by 5pm yesterday.
He said: "Customers may have experienced disruption yesterday when a network fault led to a loss of voice and data services in Newbury and Hungerford.
"Our engineers replaced faulty equipment and a full service was restored at 5pm.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused."
Yesterday, customers with Talk Talk, in areas including Newbury, Shaw and Hungerford, reported that they had had no phone or broadband connections for almost the entire day.
This morning (Thurs) newburytoday.co.uk received reports from a Kintbury resident who claimed she was still experiencing problems in the early hours of the morning, while the Talk Talk website also stated that some residents in the south east of England were still experiencing a total loss of service.
The Talk Talk spokesman added: "The exchanges are back up and running, [the engineers have] been testing and the problem is resolved.
"If individual customers are having problems they can call customer service to request assistance."
