Procession of witness in Newbury today (Friday)




Head to Northbrook Street to watch the Good Friday procession and tuck into hot cross buns at St Nicolas Church

THE annual Good Friday procession of witness will take place in Newbury town centre today (Friday).

The event will kick off at Newbury Methodist Church with an hour long service followed by a procession through Northbrook Street to St Nicolas Church.

Half way through the route, there will be a performance by a dance troupe and at St Nicolas Church hot cross buns handed out.

The event has been organised by Christians Together in the Newbury Area and spokesman, Ian Gardner, said: "It is being held to commemorate what Jesus did for us."

The church service is expected to start at 10.30am and the procession is due to start at 11.30am.

Mr Gardner invited everyone to go along and watch the procession.
