Proud parish commissions commemorative ceramic mugs
The limited edition mug, with baby blue writing, has been designed to complement the village’s first commission for the royal wedding, from the Staffordshire-based pottery company. As well as the royal baby’s name and date of birth, the design depicts a wreath of acorns, highlighting an avenue of oaks, a famous landmark in the village associated with an earlier royal visit to the parish by the queen.
The chairwoman of Bucklebury Parish Council, Wynne Frankum, said: “We wanted to commemorate this historic and happy occasion and to mark the association of Prince George with Bucklebury. The production of this limited edition mug is something special for everyone to enjoy.”
The chairwoman of Bucklebury Community Events which is overseeing the sale of the mugs, Christie Morris, said: “We are especially delighted that Emma Bridgewater has agreed to work with us on this – they have created a stunning design for us.
“The mug will be a unique and collectible item with the added bonus that funds raised from the sales will go towards future parish events and celebrations.”
The mugs go on sale this week from the Bucklebury Parish website, priced at £20 and £15 to Bucklebury residents.
