Pangbourne Firework Fiesta an ‘absolute blast’

Pangbourne’s annual Firework Fiesta put on a “spectacular” display for friends and families.

The fireworks, organised by Friends of Pangbourne Primary School, attracted 2,000 people on Saturday (November 2) and raised thousands of pounds for the school.

“It went really well and the atmosphere was spectacular,” said headteacher Melissa Fry.

Eighteen members of Pangbourne Rotary Club also helped marshal the event.

“The weather was dry and not cold for a change, so everyone was able to enjoy the evening,” said publicity and public image lead Ted Millichap.

“In fact, the attendance was so good, the organisers have already noted to order more portaloos for next year.

“The fireworks display — by Pains Fireworks & SFX — was voted by many as the best they had seen in a long time, while the bonfire added a great atmosphere.”

The organisers wish to thank all of its volunteers and partners who made the event possible.

In particular, they thank Pains Fireworks & SFX for an “amazing” display; The UK Garrison; Pangbourne Rotary Club; Go Fish & Chips, Mortimer Sausage Company and Birch Bakery for keeping everyone fed; Pangbourne Youth FC for supplying the lights; the 1st Purley and Pangbourne Scout Group for supplying the tables; and Davis Tate Estate Agents Pangbourne for providing signage and sponsorship.
