Public dances with wolves at Beenham amble
The day was fully booked, with 12 members of the public taking part in the walk with the three arctic wolves Sikko (Ice), Pukak (Fine Snow) and Massak (Soft Snow), names taken from the Inuit language.
A spokeswoman for the Wolf Trust, Linda Malliff, said: “It was really good. We have been running these walks for about 18 months now.
“I think arctic wolves are very unusual in the UK. Ours were the first and they are very attractive to people because nowhere else offers these walks.”
The walk, between 9am and 11am, was run by local volunteers who gave up their time to give members of the public a chance to walk with the wolves.
Prices for the Arctic Amble are £60 per person, and the number of participants is limited to 12 people per visit.
There will be another walk on September 13 at the trust, whose aim is to raise awareness about wild wolves and encourage their conservation. It also supports various wolf conservation efforts around the world.
