Pubs celebrate good beer in West Berkshire

The Royal Oak in Yattendon hosted a launch night for the 2012 Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide

WEST Berkshire Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) celebrated a successful launch night for the 2012 Good Beer Guide.

The event was held at the Royal Oak, Yattendon, on Tuesday, September 20.

West Berkshire CAMRA representative Chris Marriage welcomed visitors from West Berkshire Brewery, Upton Cider Company and six pubs featured in the 2012 edition of the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, as they arrived.

Fourteen copies of the Guide were sold, at a discount price of £10, leaving a few remaining for sale at future West Berkshire CAMRA events.

West Berkshire CAMRA chairman Adrian Bean said: "We're here to celebrate brilliant beer within West Berkshire and you are the best of the best who serve consistently good beer throughout the year.

“We have about 120 pubs within the branch area which we whittle down to 11 that go into the Good Beer Guide. It's always an arduous choice to actually find the best within the best. Thank you all for selling consistently good beer, all year.”
