Pupil awards for Newbury school
St Barts’ old boy and former Elite Performance Coach for the West Indies Cricket Board, Simon Grayson, addressed the audience.
Headteacher Ms Julia Mortimore said: “We were delighted to welcome Simon back to St Barts as a former student to join us in celebrating outstanding GCSE results in the summer and to hear about his work.
“This year we were delighted that 81 per cent of the 245 students in the year group gained at least five A* to C grades at GCSE, including English and mathematics.
“These results kept doors open for students to progress in whichever direction they chose for their post-16 studies or training.”
There were 103 book prizes and trophies awarded on the night and a selection of Key Stage 4 certificates were presented.
Prospective students will be welcomed by current sixth formers at an open evening on Tuesday, November 25 to talk about subjects and extra-curricular activities.
